The Social Reckoning

Running time: 132 mins

The Social Reckoning reunites audiences with one of the most fascinating modern stories of power, technology and influence, as Oscar-winning writer Aaron Sorkin returns to the world he helped define with The Social Network (2010). That film directed by David Fincher and written by Sorki became one of the most acclaimed movies of the 21st century, earning eight Academy Award nominations and winning three, including Best Adapted Screenplay for Sorkin. Widely regarded as one of the greatest films about the modern digital age, it charted the explosive creation of Facebook and the complex personalities behind the platform that transformed global communication. The Social Reckoning revisits that world years later, exploring the extraordinary consequences of social media?s rise and the enormous influence these platforms now wield over politics, culture and everyday life.

Inspired by real-world controversies surrounding social media companies from data privacy scandals and political misinformation to congressional hearings and whistleblower revelations the film explores how technology that once promised to connect the world has instead created new and unexpected tensions. Sorkin, known for his razor-sharp dialogue and rapid-fire storytelling in films like A Few Good Men, Moneyball and The Trial of the Chicago 7, once again dives into the intersection of ambition, innovation and accountability. Much like The Social Network captured the birth of the social media era, The Social Reckoning examines its consequences asking what happens when the platforms that reshaped the world are finally forced to confront the power they have created.
