MARIO KART BIG SCREEN TOURNAMENT (UNDER 14s)

To celebrate the release of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, we are turning our cinema screen into a giant Mario Kart racetrack this Good Friday.

Young racers aged under 14 are invited to compete in our Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Big Screen Tournament, played live on the big screen in the auditorium. Race your way around classic Mario Kart tracks in a fast, fun and friendly competition for prizes.

This event is designed to be light-hearted and enjoyable rather than a serious esports competition. It is all about having fun racing on the big screen, so highly competitive or professional players are discouraged from entering.

Entry costs £5 / ?5 and all entry fees go directly into the prize pool.

Prizes: o 1st Place: £100 / ?100 cash
o 2nd Place: £50 / ?50 cash
o 3rd Place: Four cinema tickets worth up to £54 / ?50

Tournament Format

Players will compete in a 32-player elimination tournament.

Each race will feature two players competing head-to-head in a split screen. The winners from each race will progress to the next round until the final two racers compete for the championship.

Race Settings: o Mode: Player vs Player
o Engine Class: 150cc
o Teams: No teams
o Items: Normal
o Computer Racers: Off
o Race Length: 1 race (3 laps)
o Courses: Random


Standard Tournament Setup

To ensure fairness and keep the tournament running smoothly, every player will use the same character and kart setup. o Character: Mario
o Kart: Standard Kart
o Wheels: Standard
o Glider: Super Glider


This setup will remain the same for every race including the final and cannot be changed by players.

Rules: o Players will race using the standard Mario Kart scoring and finishing positions
o The lowest finishing player in each race will be eliminated
o Courses will be selected at random by the host
o Players must not pause the game except to alert staff of a technical issue
o Cinema staff will act as tournament officials and their decisions are final


Additional Information: o Players should arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time for registration
o Parents or guardians are welcome to watch from the auditorium
o Spaces are limited and advance booking is recommended
o All participants must have permission from a parent or guardian to take part
